We are a group of local Aiken citizens and landowners that care about preserving Aiken’s farmland and rural way of life. We believe industrial growth belongs in industrial areas and should not disrupt our valuable resources including farmland, water, wildlife, and air quality.

We are closely involved with the Aiken County Council and other decision makers to try to influence decisions on growth so that Aiken farmland can be preserved and protected. Issues we are currently working on include fighting the development of green space for gas fired power plants in the eastern part of the county and working with the planning commission and county council to keep the eastern corridor of Aiken as a rural preservation area in the Aiken County County Comprehensive Plan. Future goals include supporting common sense zoning that protects our farmland from being used for data centers, power plants and other industrial uses.

We also have the goal of educating citizens on how to make local government work for them. We want to help keep residents informed on projects that impact them and how to reach their representatives to be sure their voices are heard.
